My Fellow Bowlers,
As I embark on my final year of my presidency, I would like to thank the entire bowling community for your cooperation and support the past three seasons. We have witnessed the rebuilding of our Association, and I am confident we are headed in the right direction.
I have also witnessed the birth of the new Empire State Bowling Association. I am proud to be part of this new organization. The Directors and Officers of your new State Association are dedicated to promoting our sport and preserving the integrity of the game.
I ask that my fellow bowlers participate in our local and state tournaments. We conduct these for all of our membership and the success of those tournaments depends upon your support and participation. Also attend our annual meetings, this is where you as a bowler can make your voice heard. Everyone can make a difference by becoming involved.
Our office is open for any questions or problems that might come up darning the season. Please feel free to call our Association Manager, myself, or your bowling center representative for assistance. Also you can log on to our web site for information.
It has been an honor to serve as your President and I am looking forward to a successful and rewarding season for our Association and the Bowling Community.
Yours in bowling,
Martin J. Fichera
President Syracuse USBC Bowling Association

My Fellow Bowlers !
As we begin another bowling season, I as your President, would like to take this opportunity to focus on what the Syracuse Women’s Bowling Association has to offer our members.
We have a board of directors consisting of 14 women bowlers who are ready and wiling to serve you – our members – in any capacity that you deem necessary. Information is always available though our association office, our website:
www.syracusebowling.com or our bi-weekly newspaper, the CNY Striker, available in all bowling centers. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
TOURNAMENTS – we sponsor several of them each year and they are: City Tournament; League Officers Tournament; Senior Tournament; and the Queens Tournament. Our website will give you more information as to dates, times and locations.
We have 2 exiting events that will take place during the 2010-2011 bowling season. The 1
st event is the USBC NATIONAL WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT will be held in Syracuse during the months of April, May, June and July 2011. Bowling lanes will be built at the ONCENTER in downtown Syracuse. For those ladies that have never had the opportunity to bowl in this national event, this is your perfect chance to participate in one of the largest women’s sporting events in the world. Information can be obtained from bowling headquarters, 1 800 514-2695 or
www.bowl.com.
Our 2nd event is the formation of a transition team from the men’s, women’s and youth organizations at the State level to begin discussing a merger by the 2011-2012 bowling season. We will keep you posted as this momentous task begins.
I look forward to serving as your President for the 2010-2011 bowling season and wish you good luck, good scores and most of all – have fun!!!
