Message From The President Of the SBA and SWBA

My fellow bowlers:

As we ready for the start of a new season, I must first say how honored I am to be elected your 85th President of the Syracuse Bowling Association.  I look forward to continuing the Association’s legacy that began in 1925. In my eleven years on the board, I’m proud to have worked side-by-side with so many who are legends in our sport.

This past June, the State Association opened the door for all the local Associations to merge by passing the proposal at the annual meeting. After the last few details are in place, the merger will take effect August 1st, which is the official start of our season. We already have a committee in place that will work with the SWBA and Youth to take necessary steps to move forward as quickly as possible to merge our three associations, seamlessly. We will keep you posted as we undergo this process.

Our Association tries it’s best to get information out to all our bowlers whether through The CNY Striker, our website, www.syracusebowling.com or our Facebook page. We ask that you pick up the bi-weekly paper from your favorite bowling center, check us our online or on Facebook as often as you can. We ask that you help us spread the bowling news whenever you can. I also welcome your comments and suggestions, just email them to our office at sbowling@twcny.rr.com

I’d like to personally congratulate the Syracuse Women’s Bowling Association on their hard work in supporting the USBC Women’s Championship held at the OnCenter this year. Their hard work has opened the door for other USBC tournament opportunities for Syracuse.

In one closing thought, I ask for your support of bowling throughout this season. Reach out and help others achieve new and higher goals and together, we can build a stronger bowling community in Syracuse.

See you on the lanes,

John M. Rougeau

President, Syracuse USBC Bowling Association, Inc.

WOW!!!! What an “OFF SEASON” – 88 days of bowling and greeting women bowlers from all over the country. It has been a wonderful experience working at the Oncenter and also working at the airport welcoming ladies to our city.
Quiet after the Nationals; I hope not.
We are looking forward to the 2011-2012 season which will be filled with many tournaments i.e.; seniors, league officers/ directors and the Queens.
Our City Tournament will be back and we look forward to your support. Our Board of Directors will be in your centers giving you the details on all of our tournaments.
We have 4 officers, 9 directors and our Association Manager ready to help you with any questions you may have. Our Association office is open Monday – Thursday, 10:30am – 4:30pm.
Please remember to keep up to date with all our bowling news, activities and scores by visiting our Web site, www.syracusebowling.com and don’t forget to pick up our Association newspaper, CNY STRIKER. Our paper is free and available in our bowling centers every two weeks.
On behalf of myself and the entire SWBA board have a great bowling season, roll good scores, always have fun and enjoy our great sport.
Sandy Adiano
Syracuse WBA President

Welcome to a new bowling season. We are happy to have you with us.  Various tournaments are in the process of being set up for your junior bowlers.  These tournaments are for all ages, skill level & averages. How about giving them a try! You can find the tournament schedule in the CNY Striker, the bowling website, syracusebowling.com & hanging in your local centers. Entries will be available on line and in your bowling centers.  Each coach will have the list of tournaments in the league kits they receive before your bowling league begins.

As you may know the number of youth bowlers has dwindled over the last few years, and with your help we can build it up again. Why not ask your neighborhood friends, schoolmates or relatives to join a league. Share your bowling experiences, show off your patches & awards, be proud of your accomplishments!

We need you to help promote and keep our bowling programs alive and striving!  Many lifelong friendships are made through bowling!

Our board is working on new and exciting things for our junior bowlers & we look forward to working with them.
