During the 1977 season Twin Trees Restaurant won the New York State tournament with a score of 3151, Andrew Melnyk won the singles with 724, and Marty Piraino won the all-events with 2007.
On December 21, 1977, Twin Trees also shot the highest single game score in Syracuse history when they bowled 1298 in the Post-Standard league at Holiday Bowl. Team members and scores were; John Russo-256, Sam Misita-279, Frank Cutri-210, Len Paduana-253, and Lou Scrimale-300.
On January 30, 1979 Jim Robarge shot 828 at South Side Recreation to break Dom Cefalo's S.B.A. highest three game series mark set in 1972.
On February 4, 1979 Don Collins shot the highest three game series in S.B.A. history. He bowled 867 in the Van Wie Doubles with games of 279, 299, 289 at the Baldwinsville Sports Bowl.
Food Factory, bowling in the Post-Standard league at Holiday Bowl on April 11,1979 shot the highest team series in S.B.A. history with a score of 3495. Their scores were; Al Danzy-646, Lloyd Scanlon-672, Mike Cornish-619, GusRusso-(300) 822, and Jim Robarge-736.
Twin Trees won the New York State team championship with a score of 3039 in 1980. In 1982, John O. Martino became the first bowler from Syracuse to be elected to the New York State bowling Hall of Fame. Jim Robarge and Mike Cornish won the New York State Doubles with a score of 1290 and Syracuse Bowlers Pro Shop won the team event with a score of 3000.
Cliff Saliba became the second Syracuse bowler to win an A.B.C. title when he was a member of Doug Heim’s Bowling Supply, which won the team title by shooting 3286 in 1983 at Niagara Falls.
Syracuse was host to the New York State tournament in 1984. A&W Restaurant won the team event with 3200, John Russo and Don Gates won the doubles with 1451, and Chuck Wainwright won the all-events with 2007. Berard Sarno Sr. was elected to the New York State bowling Hall of Fame for meritorious service.
Greg Griffo was elected to the New York State bowling Hall of Fame as an outstanding bowler in 1986.
Barbagallo's, in 1987, shot the highest team total in S.B.A. history, 3619, in the Post-Standard Classic league at Seneca Lanes. Their scores were; Sam Ventura Jr.-722, John Scaia-682, Joe Creno-667, Joe Losurdo-842, and Gary Cunningham-706. Also that year Marty Piraino and Danny Biasone were selected to the Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame.
Creno and Kelley’s Pro Shop won the New York State team title with a score of 3119. On October 9, 1989, Barbagallo's shot the highest team series in Syracuse bowling history with a score of 3641. Team members and scores were; Buddy Amidon- 813, Barry Clute- 650, Gary Cunningham- 696, Joe Losurdo- 752, and Sam Ventura- 730. Greg Griffo was elected to the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame.
