Butch was one of the pioneers of bowling on the west side of Syracuse and captained many championship teams. His most notable achievement came on January 18, 1928 at Sacred Heart alleys. On that night, he bowled a 258 triplicate series and 774 series. That triplicate was the highest triplicate bowled in the United States until 1936.
