Charles has been bowling in the S.B.A. for over fifty years. During that time he has been a league secretary in numerous leagues including twenty-six years as secretary of the Carrier # 1 League. He has also served as league President.
In 1973, he was selected to the Board of Directors of the Syracuse Bowling Association, a position that he still maintains today for a total of thirty-four years. Between the years of 1985 and 1989, he served as Vice- President of the Syracuse Bowling Association and served as the President of the S.B.A. for the 1989-90 season.
