Many of Sam’s accomplishments in the game of bowling occurred before he joined the Syracuse Association. He had carried a more than 200 average to close to forty years. Sam was a member of many classic league team champions and also was a New York State Singles champion in 1965, and an association doubles champion with Lou Scrimale in 1966. In 1977, Sam was a member of the Twin Trees team which set an association single game team record of 1298 at Holiday Bowl.
