John served as President of the S.B.A. during the 1930-31 season. In 1925, he won the Onondaga County bowling championship. He was a member of the 1936 New York State team champions, Optimate Cigars. John carried a 190 average for twenty-eight A.B.C. tournaments. Also he was chosen to be on the United States Bowling Team for the world championships in 1929. He was chosen to the Syracuse All-Star Bowling team on five different occasions.
