Paul Bernet was elected as an outstanding bowler to the Syracuse Bowling Association in 2008. He was the Secretary of the Syracuse Bowling Association from 1929 until 1936. He was the former manager of the Jefferson Bowling Lanes in Syracuse and the Fulton Lanes in Fulton. Paul was the first person to roll a 300 game at Jefferson Lanes. He also was very instrumental in bringing the A.B.C. tournament to Syracuse in 1935. In the late 1920’s and early 1930’s he wrote for the Herald Journal sports department.
Paul had a very outstanding bowling career which included being a member of the City championship team in 1925 with the “Liberty’s”, and winning the City championship with “North Side Tires” in 1929. Twice he was a member of the City championship doubles team, in 1933 with Pat Crowe and again in 1934 with Frank Liss. In 1935, he paired with Pat Crowe to finish in tenth place in the doubles event. Paul had the second highest average in the City League at 206 in 1934.
