JOE BORELLO
1990---outstanding performance

Joe started gaining prominence in the 1964-65 bowling season when he had the high average in the Greater Syracuse Traveling League of 206. Two years in a row he carried the high average in the City League of 212 and 214 respectively. He has been on championship teams in the City League with Van Wie Chevrolet, Raphael’s Restaurant, and twice with Twin Trees Restaurant. In 1965, he averaged 229 while winning the Van Wie Doubles tournament with Lou Scrimale. Also in 1965, he won the city all-events title with a score of 1841. Probably one of his most memorable accomplishments was in 1980 when he shot a 289 game at the famed Peterson Classic in Chicago and won $25,000.
