His service to the Syracuse Bowling association dates back to 1935 when he helped to organize a sixty team A & P squad for the A.B.C. tournament in Syracuse. “Whitey” was President of the Syracuse Bowling Association in the 1943-44 season. He helped to influence the 1958 A.B.C. to come to Syracuse. For ten years he was the secretary of the City League. George was also the treasurer of the seventy-two team Commercial League.
