Don had been an active participant and organizer in the Syracuse Bowling Association for more than forty years. He served as president of three different leagues, and had served as secretary of the “Holy Name A” league for thirty years .For ten years, he served as a certified instructor for youth bowling an on the bowling committee for the Pastimes A.C.. Don had organized full squads of bowlers for both 1958 and 1973 A.B.C. tournaments in Syracuse. While serving on the Board of Directors of the Syracuse Bowling Association, he had served on virtually every committee and during his tenure he also served as a delegate to A.B.C. and New York State conventions. In 1973-74 season, he served as President of the S.B.A.
