Charles Castleman served as President of the Syracuse Bowling Association in the 1979-80 season. He began bowling as a teen and at the age of twenty, he was elected as a league secretary. He helped to organize the Knights of Columbus and the Mason’s charity tournaments. When Valley Sports Center opened, he helped to organize the Builders Exchange League, which eventually grew to sixty-four teams at Holiday Bowl. When Modern Lanes opened in Eastwood, he organized the Blessed Sacrament Church League and served as its secretary for seventeen years.
