Emanual Goldstein

Emanuel Goldstein was one of the bowling pioneers in Syracuse. He managed Reymon Bowling Lanes in 1899, and in 1904, with Ed Gordon, open Gordon’s Lanes. In 1913, with Bernie Maurer, he opened the Palace Alleys, which was the first modern bowling alley in New York State not connected to a bar. He was a prime mover in the organization and starting of the Syracuse Bowling Association. In 1912, he was the first sponsor of teams to the A.B.C. tournament from Syracuse. With John Floss in Buffalo, and Frank Rutz in Rochester, “Manny” helped to form the New York State Traveling League, which was the most outstanding league of its kind in the country.
