Gus has been a veteran of the Syracuse Bowling Association for over thirty-five years. He has been on many championship teams in various classic leagues including the City League and the Post-Standard Classic League. He bowled an 822 series at Holiday Bowl in the Post-Standard League which was part of an association record team score of 3498 which stood for many years. His highest average was 221 in the 1992-93 season. In tournament play, Gus has a tenth place finish in the team event of the A.B.C. tournament in 1981 and an S.B.A. singles title in 1976. Gus teamed with Jim Robarge to win the Van Wie Doubles on three occasions and he won the Herald Masters in 1988.
