Jerome was a dominant player in the early years of bowling in Syracuse. He was a member of many championship teams in the City League including the 1922-23, 1928-29 and the 1933-34 season. In the 1931-32 season, he had the high average in the City League with a 191. His highest recorded average was 205 in the 1933-34 season, an extremely commendable showing in that era. Jerome was named to the Herald Journal All-Star Bowling Team no fewer than five times. His tournament credentials include a second place finish in the City Singles event in 1936, ninth place in the New York State Singles in 1932 and a fourth place finish in the 1931 A.B.C. All-Events. Jerome was also a member of the “OPTIMATE CIGAR” team, which won the state title in 1935. |
