An inspirational lead off man, John has led Raphael’s Restaurant and Twin Trees Restaurant to championships in both the City League and the Post-Standard League. He helped his Twin Trees team to roll an association record game of 1298 in the Post-Standard League and to the City Leagues record game of 1220. Russo was a member of three association team champions won the singles in 1969, and the doubles with Tom Minnegan in 1976. With Twin Trees, he was on two New York State team champions, in 1977 and 1980
