Consistently among the area’s best bowlers, Don bowled in the Greater Syracuse Traveling League, the City League, and the Post-Standard League. In 1957, he bowled a 740 series in the New York State Singles in New York City, his team won the Schenectady Press tournament in 1968, and he was a member of the Sawmiller Fuel team which finished in seventeenth place in the A.B.C. tournament in Syracuse in 1973. Don had a second place finish in the Herald Masters tournament in 1961 when he qualified with a 694 score. Some of the many championship teams that he bowled on included P & C, Canada Dry, Raphael’s and Sawmiller Fuel. His highest lifetime average was 208.
