LEONARD CAPUCILLI
1975---meritorious service

Leonard was a prominent part of the Solvay Recreation Center. In 1929, he started there as a pinboy, graduated to Foul Line Judge and Manager before assuming ownership in 1940 with Dan Zollo as his partner. Hundreds of men and women got their start in the game with Len’s expert instruction, and many of good tournament bowlers had early sponsorship help from Len. As a proprietor, Len had been active on local, statewide and national levels as well as being the secretary-treasurer of the local B.P.A.A. When the popular “Syracuse Bowls” show got its start in 1959, Len worked the first season show host, Ben Berinstein at the Syracuse Bowling Center.
