John competed in an exhibition bowling match against the world famous Jimmy Smith at Maurers Recreation alleys. He was active in the Knights of Columbus leagues and won many titles. One of these was the Eastern Regional Knights of Columbus tournament. Love bowled in fifteen A.B.C. tournaments as well as several state and local tournaments and averaging over 190. In his career, he bowled with the very strong “ Byrne Seiberling” and “Millers Men’s Shop’ teams.
