Martin J. Piraino

Martin J. Piraino is considered one of the best bowlers in the United States. He has carried over a 200 average for fifty years. In 1966, he set an all-time Syracuse average record of 225 and in 1993 set an all-time high series record of 854. In 1963, Marty won his first of five P.B. A. titles. Locally, he has fourteen Van Wie Doubles championships, ten with brother Andy, three with Greg Griffo and one with his son Jay.In 1958, he set an all-time A.B.C. Masters qualifying record of 1769 for eight games. Marty is also a member of the New York State Bowling Hall of Fame and the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame.
