CLAUDE “RED” PARTON
1988---meritorious service

“Red” is known to many thousands of people who have listened to him on radio or watched him on television during his many years of service to the Central New York sports realm. It was in 1950 while working for W.S.Y.R. television that Red came through with the Syracuse bowling presentation on T.V., a show that featured Leonard Capucilli doing split conversions. In 1952, Red paired with George “Whitey” Brenneman to oppose the late Win Scheding and Ed Reddy at Columbus Park Lanes in the initial Pro-Am match. He paired with Joel Mareiniss to host the “Syracuse Bowls” show for four years. Claude was a member of the Syracuse Bowling Association Board of Directors and became the President of the S.B.A. during the 1981-82 season.
