1992---outstanding performance |
A member of the Syracuse Bowling Association for more than twenty-five years,” Nini” was making local bowling history during the 1960’s, when he could be found almost anytime turning in a stellar performance on the lanes. In 1968, when a 200 average was a feat in itself, his 210 average was considered amazing. He was the first bowler to win back to back Herald Masters title while winning seventeen consecutive matches. He appeared a record twenty-two times on the local television show “Syracuse Bowls” in 1966 alone. Many Syracusans will remember the overflow crowd at Eastwood Sport Center in 1965 when “Nini” defeated P.B.A. champion Bob Strampe 792 to 707 while finishing him off with a 300 game in his final game. Four times he was a member of the Association championship team and 1968, he became the first person in Syracuse bowling history to win the championship in all four events in the same year. |
