John owned Fairmount Bowling Center for thirty-four years. He was instrumental in attracting and hosting a number of state events, including the New York State tournaments to Syracuse, with many of them returning more than once after record setting engagements. Under his guidance, Fairmount hosted the “Syracuse Bowls” television show for twenty-three years. John founded the Win Scheding Pro-Am Tournament, an annual benefit for which the facilities of his center were donated.
