TONY CALOIA
1986---outstanding performance

Tony died while practicing for the new bowling season in 1970 at the age of forty-nine. In the 1967 A.B.C. tournament in Miami, Florida, his 1903 all-events total was in second place for a long while before finishing near the top. He was “King of the Hill” on the “Syracuse Bowls” television show, and also appeared on the statewide “Utica Club” bowling show. One of his proudest accomplishments was winning the Van Wie Doubles with his brother “Flash” two years in a row in 1967 and 1968. His Raphael’s Restaurant team finished in ninth place in the A.B.C. tournament in Cincinnati,Ohio.
