Not a big man in stature, “Flash proved to be a giant in bowling as well as business. In addition to his considerable skill in bowling, Caloia has aided the game greatly through his sponsorship of many teams and support of many endeavors. He won the Champion of Champions tournament in 1967 with 702 and won back to back title in the Herald Masters in 1968 and 1969. Paired with his brother Tony, they won the Van Wie Doubles in 1967 and 1968 and he also won with Lou Scrimale in 1962. Flash, and his Raphael’s Restaurant team finished in ninth place in the A.B.C. tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1968. He has earned ranking among the best bowlers of his era.
