Sam owned Southside
Recreation for thirty-two years. He was also a very good bowler
who had a 779 high series and a lifetime high average of 205. In
1934, he finished in fifth place in the A.B.C. Doubles with Frank
Herman and they also had a seventeenth place finish in later years.
Paired with Frank Liss, they finished in second and third places
in the New York State tournament. In 1938, he beat out brother
Andy 717 to 714 to win the Syracuse Bowling Association Singles
title.
